Taken by Wilbur Cleveland ('49) from the west side of the building, this photo shows the dramatic end of H. Maria Wright Hall as firefighters attempted to extinguish the inferno that destroyed it in January 1960. The force of the blaze and a lack of water pressure led to the loss of student records, multiple department classrooms, faculty offices, and the museum (including the mastodon skeleton).
