We will take a brief look at the story of baseball in American history. The game which has been called the Nation’s pastime has been a steady influence in American culture for almost 200 years. While the game is often lauded for not changing its boundaries or rules often, the organized sport of baseball has adapted to modernization, Western expansion, commercialization, media technology, racism, and corruption, and shaped American culture along the way.
